So Excited!!

I am very excited that in a couple of months I get to have a relaxing creative weekend once again.  It has begun to be a tradition with me and my mom...we head to Calgary for a weekend of accomplishing much scrapbooking, buying way too much stuff, and bonding with mom.  With her having 5 childs who are all married (but me) and with 9 grandkids, I dont get to spend much quality one on one time.  This time at Camp allows us both needed down time...to laugh, talk, learn, and connect.

Here is to another great year of accomplishing much scrapbooking!!!

Meeting Marie...

Another one for my Disney book...and the scan doesnt do it justice.  With the pastel colors, it was tough to get it to show up in the picture, but here is one that I have been thinking and planning for a while.  I wanted a strong Parisian feel to it, so Pastel paper used from the Luxery Pack from DCVW, iron on Fleur de lis, the silhouette used to cut out the Eiffle Tower (then glittered) and the leaves, feathers, Prima Flowers, MM metal frame, gems, Martha Stewert Butterfly punch, lots of glitter, and I believe a Jolee's Marie sticker pack.  I sewed around the outside of the page, though that is a little difficult to see and used lace and ribbon.  And of course, the edges are inked, though with MM pewter ink versus my usual black or walnut stain.  So much going on, but I love it....

Birthday???

Unfortunately this didnt scan as vibrant and bright as it is in real life.  I havent been a fan of the banner craze, but did make this one as a banner.  Prima flowers, brads, ribbon, and silly faces for blowing out the candles :)  No page is complete without inked edges in my world.  I try to leave them, but then they always end up inked!  Thanks Tim Holtz for Walnut Stain!!!

New Babies...

Yesterdays blog made me think of the new babies in our lives... and so I thought I would share some pages from the newborn albums I made as gifts for 2 of the 3 babies.  This are for my newphews that are 2 months apart.  Both were very similar, with a few little tweeks.  All pages in both books are 8x8...I good size to work with for single photos with still room to embellish.

Lucas was born first.  I mostly used Nana's Nursery (by DCVW?) on all the pages, with a few little changes here and there.  Lots of inking, letter stickers, my silhouette for titles, gems, and stickers.  They were really happy with how it turned out, and so was I... I was lucky enough to take all the photos for his book too.  It was fun to photograph my new little munchkin!!

Then there was our little miracle baby, Liam.  We are so happy to have him in our family because it was quite the journey to have him with us!!  Alot of the same products were used, but I also bought an album kit  (I am not sure who it is from) so his had more of a cutesy animal feel that Lucas' book.  The last page was made at Camp Croppin (a retreat I go to each year...they made it 12x12 but I knew I wanted to use it for his book, so I revamped it in the class to 8x8 to fit in the book) My brother started crying because he thought it was so special...well, that and because he is really into Star Wars and I screened onesies with Star Wars logos on them...I thought those were pretty swank... sorry that these photos arent as clear.  I forgot to scan them, so had to take quick pics of them before the book went to another province!!

I will work at scanning the last baby book.  I am making the ones for me to keep a little different.  They are 4x6 pages so one side will be scrapped and the other just a photo.  Makes it quicker and a feeling of being able to keep up with all the millions of pics taken of these babies!!

What do you do with Kids School Pics???

So every year I get the wallet size school pics of all my nieces and nephews.  I love getting them to see how much each kid has grown over the past year...and yet I stuggled with what to do with them.  Then I had the brainstorm to scrap them at a 4x6 size and put each kid in their own mini 4x6 album.  And here is the result.  Many different products and techniques used so I dont think that I can give all the info on these..

This is my niece whom I have the most pictures of.  I cant believe that she is already 9!!  I am missing her age 3 picture and wasnt sure if the one that had no age was 3 or 4...but I was told (by her) that it was age 4, so I need to put that on the page.  Multiple pattern papers, gems, glitter, chipboard, distressing, ribbons...you name it and I think that it was done on these pages...
This little girl definitely has me wrapped around her fingers!!
This is my niece's brother.  I am missing a couple of him as well...I can't find a baby one and his parents cant find his age 5 one.  So hopefully that will get fixed.  Dont want him to think we dont care :)  I LOVE his age 4 and gr 1 pages.  I think they are just so fun...like him!!
When my sister got married, she inherited three great kids and this is the youngest of those three.  Thus the reason I only have 4 years of school pictures starting in 2007.  I think of all the books, I really like how her pages turned out.  On her title page, it is difficult to see that it is all flocked.  I used pencil crayons to color it in to make it more defined, as well as glitter glue to make it sparkle!!

Here is the middle step-nephew.  He is one of the kids that I can't get over how much he has grown over the past few years.  It is that time of growth for young men!!

And this is my oldest step-nephew.  I enjoy how his pages turned out as well.  For the boys, it really is just a lot of pattern paper and letter stickers.

These are really simplistic pages, but it makes it so that they can be done quickly and still highlight their age, grade and the year.  My niece and nephew already love looking at them!  I have 3 new babies in our family so 3 more books to be done!!  Thankfully I was thinking ahead, and bought extra of the leather albums!!

My family

This is a mini album I made of my family from pics taken this summer.

The album is made from a Maya Road mini album.  I painted it white, then inked it with green, then distressed the edges with black ink.  Added patterned paper (I think it is Lucky Me from Little Yellow Bicycle), monogram for our last name, gems and ribbon.  Also added a Michaels epoxy sticker.  Completed it with letter stickers to say Family.

The First couple of pages include a quote about family with more of the same patterned paper.  Included a paper flower and a epoxy sticket.  Then the next page is a picture of our full family, our last name and more pattern paper and epoxy sticker to top it off.

The next page is a page focusing on my parents.  Letter stickers with the sentiment "Love makes us a family.  There is pattern paper, epoxy sticker, a transparency butterfly and gems.

These pages are focusing my oldest brother and their new little boy.  Pattern paper, a Martha Sterwet butterly with gem stones, and Joy letter stickers.  The next page is me...though I didnt get a current picture of me and my dog.  A cute couple of scrolls, gemstones, and a "fabulous" epoxy sticker.

These pages are of my brother and sister.   My brother's family has pattern paper, transparency scallop border, star accent and together sticker.  My sister's family page has the same pattern paper, Love epoxy letter stickers, a flower, and gemstone.

And the final page has my youngest brother and his noew family.  The same pattern paper, a die cut, another Martha Stewert punched buttery, stamped Hope image and cut out, and gemstones complete his page.  The back cover just states family fun with the Grand Total of immediate family member stating 19 (and I think it will continue to grow!!)

I like how this book turned out.  I am not into making mini albums because I dont know what you do with them, but it is fun to have all our 2010 pics in one place.  Hope you enjoyed.

Disney!!!

I love Disney!  Since I have been there so many times (though still not enough!) my newest passion is to meet as many characters as possible.  My most recent trip I surpassed all expectations and met 68 Characters in one week.  I have been working on a book that is just Character Encounters, so here are a few of the pages from there...

Lots of stuff going on in these...My Honey has sewing around the honey combs, sparkles, flowers that I made and inking.  Kinda took a while, but love the outcome.  Arieal have lots of Jolee stickers and even more sparkle.  I think I may have overdone it with the sparkle...even for me!!

Simple page for meeting Mike as well as Lilo and Stitch...just lots of prima flowers.

I make it a point to meet Snow White every trip since she is my favorite, so I have a few pages of her.  The pic with Mary Poppins was really bad, so changed it to B&W to help it out.  I do like the final product with that one...lots of flowers, ribbon, and gems.

And another Pooh and Buzz page.  Really like both.  Pooh has alot of distressed edges that may not be seen and Buzz has painted chipboard again.

Another Snow White page...I think this is one of the first pics I have with her from 2000.  Though I had been there before, it was then that I started searching for Characters.  And meeting Buzz, lots of painted chipboard, picture corner mounts and letter stickers.  I do love orange and blue together!

And the final two are Mike and Daisy.
Mike had lots of Utee melted to look like slime and inking, and clear embossing...a cute mess!  And Daisy has the flowers and sparkle.  Not sure I am happy with it.  May work on it a bit.

This is just a few...I have 18 more pages completed...and a lot more to go.  I will post more as they care completed.

Blogging???

Who knew that I would do a blog??  I am not a person who journals...so here it is.  I am doing this because I would like to try to see if I could be a part of a design team, and this is what they need...so I will try.

Here are a couple of Christmas things I was working on...

My Christmas Cards this year...LOVE THEM.
You may recognize Prince Naveen from The Princess and the Frog  :)

Then there was all the home decorating this year... Idea taken from Heidi Swapp with the banner printed out a line from Angels we have Heard on HIgh.  Really like how it turned out!!

And the candle ring, new paper trees, beautiful sparkled and flocked paper tree, and my wreath (that I LOVE)  Everything this year had lots of bling and sparkles...

That's it for the first post.  May everyone have an amazing New Year!!!
